Research
Ahh good old research. We are all familiar with doing research from high school. It usually would consist of getting a topic and having to dig through information from all sorts of places and formulate an educated paper. It seems like I've done so many research papers over the years. When researching, I always do it the same way. I make sure I know the prompt of the assingnment so I do exactly what is asked, I gather relevant information from wherever I can whether its through books at the library or using the internet and google to using the Purdue Calumets' online library and databases. Once I have my info I take out whatever I can use and write it down and cite the exact page where it came from. The last step is writing the paper. This is just simply putting your information in a logical and comprehensive order. I know MLA is used more for liberal arts and creative writting and APA is used basically for papers related to science. We always have to cite information we didn't know about and give credit to the author who did know what he was talking about. We use other peoples work because it proves accuracy and authority when someone reading your paper knows the information say for instance it came from a professor at Yale.

I am happy to share your experience in doing research because I did not do such a formal research bu myself, actually, my teachers never told us to do that. I think it is a obvious difference between American and Chinese education. In America, teachers want to let students learn more by themselves. It is totally different from China.
In your hign school, you already did research very well. So you guys can do it very easily when you go to the college. But it may be a little difficult to us to write with the second language. I often make many mistakes in writing. Sometimes I can’t find the strong support ideas to support my essay.

After I read your essay, I know that you already did research in your high school. I was in a very different situation. When I was in high school, I even don't know how to search internet quickly. I should spend long time in it, so I don't like to seach internet at that time.
Furthermore, you mentioned the word research papers. I never heard it before, so I think your essay is very helpful. In China, when we were in an exam, we were not allowed to search anything. It is very different, isn't it?
Oh tas quite different in high school from China to America. We didn’t do research a lot, so we need to study hard to handle the research correctly. The MLA format is quite interesting for me as I never did it in China. Now, I know it’s pretty important. It’s others’ job, so we need to show it in MLA, it’s right.

Your blog really tauht me a lot. I have never known what MLA and APA are before. It comes to be the research to different sorts of paper. We Chinese don't have to do it in China, maybe I should practice more.
Sounds funny, I didn't do much research too. Every time I had to do it, I did it the same way as you did.
Hi andy, thank you for sharing your experice about doing research, it really help me a lot. i never do it before in my home country. although i don't like it, but i believe that it's helpful readers to understand where are the srouces from.
